(City Name) Workers and Community Members to Observe Workers Memorial Day and Renewing the Promise for Safer Jobs for All.

(Local factory workers, nurses, firefighters, city workers, telephone operators, and other local workers) will be joined by community members on (day of week and date) to honor workers killed, injured, and become ill across (state name) last year. Millions of workers, including frontline and essential Teamster members, contracted Covid-19 at their workplaces and some died from it. Under the banner of “Renew the Promise, Safe Jobs for All,” they will call for safer workplaces and an end to workplace deaths.

Hundreds of similar events around the world are planned as part of Workers Memorial Day, which is held each year on April 28th. Every year, over 5,000 people are killed at work, and 50,000 to 60,000 workers die from occupational diseases while millions more are injured.
