Lee & Eastes Tank Lines employs approximately 30 Teamsters under a Master Tankhaul agreement representing members in Washington and Idaho under Joint Council 28 (Locals 174, 313, 690 and 839) and Oregon’s Joint Council 37 (Local 81).

Teamsters at Lee & Eastes recently approved a strong three-year contract that features significant wage increases in each year of the contract; pension increases; increases in subsistence and training pay; and an increase in trainee pay while learning to haul fuel.

“I’m proud of the negotiating team on the outcome of this contract,” said Keith Gleason, Tankhaul Division Director and President of Local 627 in Peoria, Ill. “This contract shows how a tankhaul company, no matter how small or local, can afford to increase their employee wages not only to maintain their own drivers, but also attract more qualified drivers.”

“If Lee & Eastes can do it, then the larger companies can also afford to do it,” said David Jacobsen, Western Region Tankhaul Director. Jacobsen also assisted with the negotiations. “We look forward to tackling more of these expiring contracts in the near future.”

Lee & Eastes has been doing business for 98 years in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho. The owners of this “mom and pop” company are enthusiastic about their expansion and will be hiring an additional 30 (or more) Teamster drivers.

Teamsters with the company transports bulk commodities throughout the West. They haul jet fuel, aviation gasoline, lube oil, refined petroleum and liquid asphalt.
