Walsh Tells Teamsters He Stands With Workers

Walsh

U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh greeted Teamsters during the second day of the union’s 30th International Convention, telling attendees that workers are an integral part of the Biden administration’s efforts to improve the lives of Americans.

Noting his own membership in the Laborers’ Union and his past stint as head of the Boston Building Trades, Walsh said implementing policy changes to raise up middle-class America is essential. That includes improving wages and benefits, enhancing workplace safety protections, beefing up job training and enforcing their right to organize.

“I fully intend to advance these priorities and do what I’ve always done – fight for working people,” Walsh said.
