  • Striking XPO Port Truck Drivers Rally in Los Angeles, San Diego

    (CALIFORNIA) – Port truck drivers for XPO Logistics Inc. who are on strike held rallies in Los Angeles and San Diego and demanded the company end the rampant day-to-day abuse of drivers. The actions come on the heels of a breaking victory as the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement recognized a striking driver as in fact employed by XPO and determined the company owes him $123,074.43 in back pay. Hundreds of port truck drivers from XPO, as well as NFI Industries, walked off the job on Monday.

  • Teamsters Overwhelmingly Approve Contract at Wegmans

    (ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – After months of negotiations, members of Teamsters Local 118 employed in the Wegmans General Merchandise Warehouse overwhelmingly ratified a new five-year agreement. The general merchandise warehouse agreement is separate from the grocery and transportation agreement which is set for renegotiations next year.   

  • Allegations of Sexual Harassment, Gender Discrimination Dominate XPO Europe Annual Meeting as French Employees Strike

    (LYON, France) – At XPO’s European annual general meeting (AGM) in Lyon today, a former Memphis-based XPO worker addressed the board of directors and shareholders about sexual harassment, gender discrimination and dangerous conditions in the workplace. She was joined by workers from Spain and leaders from unions throughout Europe and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters who raised concerns about the abuses and called for management to start resolving the issues.

  • Safeway.com Teamsters at Local 174 and Local 313 Vote to Authorize Strike

    (TUKWILA, Wash.)—On Sunday evening, Teamsters driving grocery home delivery trucks for Safeway.com came together to participate in their first-ever strike authorization vote. The group of about 90 drivers has been in negotiations for a first contract since late last year. However, faced with slow progress and management’s unwillingness to back off from several unacceptable proposals, the group decided to demonstrate their commitment to getting a first contract by taking a strike authorization vote, and voted overwhelmingly in favor.

  • Eight current and former workers at a Memphis warehouse operated by the global supply firm XPO Logistics said they were subjected to sexual harassment and retaliated against for filing claims against their supervisors, prompting an investigation by Verizon, which contracts the facility.

    The women accused nine different supervisors by name. Two of the women said they were retaliated against for making harassment claims, according to complaints filed with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
