A Memorial Day Message From Jim Hoffa

Every year on Memorial Day, Teamsters come together to remember those who have sacrificed their lives on behalf of our country. The debt owed to them is beyond measure.

As our membership and many U.S. workers celebrate Memorial Day, I ask that we all take a moment to remember the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have given their lives for our freedoms.

For more than a century, the Teamsters have seen some of our union brothers and sisters go off to war and not come home. We also know that many of our members have lost family and friends in such conflicts as well. The Teamsters are humbled by the sacrifice made by all these soldiers, and we wish those affected by their loss comfort and peace.

The Teamsters Union will continue to honor our fallen soldiers and to advocate on behalf of active-duty, Guard, Reserve and veterans, and those leaving the military and entering the general workforce. For more information on union-supported job programs for active-duty and veterans, visit www.teamster.org/tmap.

We are forever in debt to those who have died defending America. Today, and every day, we honor them and their families with our heartfelt thanks and support.

Fraternally,

James P. Hoffa
Teamsters General President
