This afternoon the Teamsters officially filed for a representation election for mechanics and related at US Airways. Our future coworkers at US Airways have an overwhelming majority of Teamster cards signed. Today they announced they have petitioned the National Mediation Board for an election.

This shows the Teamsters are serious about their commitment to fighting for strong representation for mechanics and related at AA and US Airways. Today’s filing is the culmination of many months of hard work by US Airways mechanics who, like us,  have been getting Teamster cards signed so they can become members of the biggest, strongest aviation mechanics union – the Teamsters.

Now it’s our turn! We’re close to joining our future brothers and sisters at US Airways by filing for an election. Today’s news challenges us to make the final push. It’s time for us to make the change from concessionary TWU representation to Teamster power at AA – the Teamsters are the only union that has what it takes to fight for us and move our craft forward!
