ExpressJet Update

Negotiations resumed August 7^th through August 9^th in Philadelphia.

Discussions continued on Section 8 – (Vacations) and Section 22 – (General and Miscellaneous).  Although no tentative agreements were reached, progress was made on both contract sections.

Due to a scheduling conflict for the mediator in September, negotiations will resume on October 15^th.

The Department of Homeland Security late last week ordered increased inspections of cargo at the last point of departure for the United States.

Airlines, Industry and Labor

American Airlines plans to hire 80 reservation agents to work from home in South Florida. The full-time positions will require seven weeks of training. Candidates must be located within 75 miles of the Miami International Airport.
