The Teamsters National AEI Negotiating Committee and the company agreed on July 19 to tentatively extend the existing contract until March 31, 2014. In exchange for the extension AEI has agreed to maintain all existing health and welfare and pension benefits with an increase in the contribution rate of up to $1.00 per hour effective as soon as payable along with a $750 bonus for all employees which will be paid within 30 days of ratification of this extension. Ballots were mailed to AEI Teamsters on August 5, and must be returned to the Lanham, Maryland post office by 10am, August 27.
