The Teamsters Military Assistance Program (TMAP) announces a new partnership between the Teamsters, FirstGroup America and the U.S. Military to create job opportunities for veterans and their spouses. FirstGroup America is the largest passenger transportation company in the nation, providing school and community transportation at over 700 locations across the US and Canada. FirstGroup is just the latest Teamster company to join the portfolio providing employment transition assistance to veterans and their families through TMAP. Other partners include ABF Freight, which is working to help soldiers become union truck drivers and fill needed jobs.

Under this new partnership, the Teamsters will be working directly with our military partners to implement an outreach and recruitment plan geared toward the family members of our veterans. Military spouses and dependents will now have the opportunity to work in good union jobs in their communities at Teamster-represented FirstGroup America locations.

“The Teamsters Union is proud to expand our involvement with the United States Military by developing a strategic partnership along with FirstGroup America. From serving the stars and stripes to serving our students, the Teamsters are ready to help people transition from being the world’s best soldiers to the world’s best drivers,” said Jim Hoffa, Teamsters General President.
