Teamsters Score Major Contract Victory at Advanced Auto Parts After Edging Close to a Strike

Advanced

(MINNEAPOLIS) – Teamsters Local 120 members at Advanced Auto Parts in Minneapolis have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new contract following intense negotiations that brought the 40-worker group close to a strike. The new agreement addresses workers’ concerns around pay, excessive hours, and working conditions.

“We are thrilled to have won such an incredible contract. This victory was all thanks to our dedication and solidarity. When negotiations hit a wall, we knew it was time to take a stand. Everyone agreed that the only way to be successful was to fight back,” said Loren Dilley, a 40-year receiving clerk at Advanced Auto Parts and Local 120 shop steward.

After weeks of negotiations, Dilley said that he and his fellow warehouse workers at Advanced Auto Parts were prepared to strike.

“After a near-unanimous vote to strike – with only one vote against – these workers were fired up and ready to hit the streets,” said Chad Ludwig, Local 120 Business Agent. “The company saw what they were up against and caved. The overwhelming ratification vote is a testament to our members hard work and resolve at the table. This contract recognizes their valuable contributions to the company.”

The newly ratified contract ensures improvements in wages, benefits, and working for Local 120 members.

“This contract ratification is a testament to the strength and unity of our membership. By standing together and demonstrating solidarity, our members have secured a fair and just contract that reflects their hard work and dedication,” said Tom Erickson, President of Local 120 President and Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division. “I used to serve as this group’s business agent, so I have long known their resilience and determination in negotiations. I applaud them for their resolve and unity throughout this process.”
