Teamsters shop stewards at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) recently gathered for a national webinar to discuss upcoming negotiations with the employer, which is the largest agricultural co-operative in the United States.

“The reason we gathered all of the shop stewards here today is because you’re the front line of defense at DFA,” said Lou Villalvazo, Chairman of the DFA Teamsters National Bargaining Committee. “It’s all hands on deck, we’re asking you to help us educate, organize and mobilize the members around you so we can have a militant army at every DFA workplace that’s a part of this campaign.”

Local unions have been coordinating with the Teamsters Food Processing Division to form a national bargaining committee for the first time ever in order to secure the best wages, benefits, and working conditions for DFA Teamsters.

“Every time we go to into negotiations – whether it be DFA or any other employer – they say it’s a bad time,” said Jesse Case, Teamsters Food Processing Division Director. “They always have time to prioritize other things, though. Well now it’s time to prioritize our members, because those are the people who put money in their pockets and keep them successful.”
