The Teamsters Express Division calls on all DHL Express Teamsters local unions to rally rank-and-file members in solidarity with DHL Express workers fighting for their first Teamster contract at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).
After a hard-fought organizing victory in April that saw more than 1,100 ramp-and-tug workers join the Teamsters, CVG workers are now facing the difficult task of negotiating a first contract. DHL is using hard-ball tactics at the negotiating table, and DHL refuses to let Local 100 officials go freely on the property to meet with the workers who Local 100 represents. In response, Teamsters are urged to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at DHL-CVG.
Support actions MUST be done prior to or after working hours. Keep it positive and supportive and do not disparage the company. Please do not negatively engage with company representatives. You are NOT on strike nor are you picketing. You are a supportive Teamster member, and that is exactly what you can tell any DHL representatives that approach you.
Retain the signs for future days of solidarity and action. This will be a long fight, and this is just the first step. Your union needs your continued support as we work towards a first contract at CVG!
All DHL Express Teamsters local unions are strongly encouraged to post supportive messages online, remind DHL workers to stand together for a fair contract, and share related messages and photos of your own members showing their support with the International Union.
Please submit your materials by Oct. 10.
