Recently, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) found that the Santa Barbara News-Press bargained in bad faith with the collective bargaining representative of its newsroom employees.

“This development is one more positive step towards rectifying the unfair treatment that reporters and other staffers received from News-Press management when they first organized their unit several years ago,” said George Tedeschi, President of the Teamsters Graphic Communications Conference and International Vice President.

Teamsters At Denver Post Retain Wages/Benefits

During recent negotiations with the Denver Post, negotiators for members of Local 455, Denver, secured contract agreements retaining current wages and benefits.

“The fifty members we represent in the Post’s transportation department have locked in their wages and benefits in a two-year contract,” said Matthew Fazakas, 961 Contract Director / business agent. “Soon, the sixty Denver Post pressmen will vote on a similar contract which will give them 38 months of stability.”
