Hawaii Voter Registration Instructions

State Organizational Voter Registration Drive Requirements:

Organizations that seek to duplicate the state voter registration form must seek advance approval from the State of Hawaii Office of Elections. 

Individual Voter Registration Drive Requirements:

No individual requirements.

Voter Registration Form Requirements:

The state mail-in voter registration application can be downloaded at the Office of Elections website , but such form may not be duplicated by a voter registration group without permission from the Office or county clerk (see note on photocopying below). A group can request up to 100 voter registration applications per month from the Office or a form which they can reproduce without limitation as to quantity.

Voter registration groups must obtain special approval from the Office or county clerk before duplicating the state voter registration application. A group that receives such approval must duplicate the application in its entirety and may only use 8.5”x11” white non-glossy paper that is at least 20 weight bond, may not duplicate the forms on newsprint quality paper, and must reproduce the original with a 1:1 size ratio.

Voter Registration Drive Collection and Completion Requirements:

Completed forms should be returned in a timely manner to the clerk of the city or county the voter lives in by the voter registration deadline. A list of these clerks is located here: http://hawaii.gov/elections/factsheets/fsvs514.pdf.
