State Organizational Voter Registration Drive Requirements:
No organizational requirements.
Individual Voter Registration Drive Requirements:
Any person who is paid or is otherwise compensated for collecting more than ten (10) voter registration applications in a general election cycle must complete the Voter Registration Solicitor Form and submit it to the Secretary of State’s office. The form is available on the “Voter Registration Information” page of Missouri Secretary of State’s website.
Voter Registration Form Requirements:
Any individual or organization conducting voter registration drives may obtain and use pre-printed state applications, which are printed on card stock. These applications may be requested from any election authority. The request must be in writing and must include the requester's name, address, and telephone number. Requests for a large number of applications should be made to the Secretary of State’s office, who will ship the forms to individuals or organizations anywhere in the state.
It is possible to download a state mail-in voter registration application from the SOS website. It is not expressly prohibited to download this form and photocopy it for use in voter registration drives. But in addition to the SOS’ recommendation against this practice, the downloadable form is county-specific so it is not conducive to being used in voter registration drives.
Voter Registration Drive Collection and Completion Requirements:
Anyone who offers to submit a completed voter registration application on another’s behalf must do so within seven days of accepting or receiving the application.
Turn In Deadline:
Within 7 days of receiving the application or by the 28th day before Election Day, October 7th.
2014 Voter Registration Deadline:
October 7th, 2014.
