Wisconsin Voter Registration Instructions

State Organizational Voter Registration Drive Requirements:

Organizations conducting voter registration drives are authorized, but not required to inform the state and utilize special registration deputies to assist in the collection of voter registration application forms. To be appointed as a special registration deputy, a person must:

·Be qualified to vote in Wisconsin

·Apply to the municipal clerk or local board of election commissioners

·Complete registration training

Voter registration organizations without special registration deputies assisting in the collection of applications must collect a copy of the required proof of residence for first-time voters and submit the copy to the election officials with the completed voter registration application.

Individual Voter Registration Drive Requirements:

Wisconsin does not have any laws requiring that voter registration drive workers undergo training, but does require special registration deputies to undergo training.

Voter Registration Drive Collection and Completion Requirements:

All registration applications collected as part of a voter registration drive must be mailed or delivered the third Wednesday before Election Day, October 15th, 2014.

Turn In Deadline:

Third Wednesday before Election Day, October 15th, 2014.

2014 Voter Registration Deadline:

By mail or voter registration drive, October 15th.  In person at the municipal clerk’s office, October 31st, on Election Day at the polls, November 4th.
