Teamsters Local 700’s law enforcement membership continues to expand as 40 members with the Park Ridge Police Department join the Teamsters.

Formerly represented by the Fraternal Order of Police, the Park Ridge Police Department voted for Teamsters representation on May 9.

“We are extremely proud to welcome our newest members to Local 700,” said Becky Strzechowski, President of Teamsters Local 700. “These hardworking men and women will now have a Union that is dedicated to protecting the rights and improving the livelihoods of our Teamsters brothers and sisters.”

Local 700 thanks the Teamsters Joint Council 25 organizing team and also the Niles Police Department – who became Teamsters Local 700 members in September 2013 – for assisting Local 700 with the successful organizing effort.

Teamsters Local 700 represents more than 11,000 members, including more than 5,200 law enforcement members.
