We are all very excited to get our election dates from the National Mediation Board so we can finally vote for the strong Teamster representation we need. We wanted to provide you with an update to dispel any rumors that are out there.

The fact is the NMB is working through its normal structured process to determine a showing of interest and set election dates for us at AA.

This is the same procedure that was used for setting election dates at US Airways. Ours is a much larger group of mechanics than US Airways so, naturally, it takes a little longer for the NMB to work through the standard process.

Tomorrow the Teamsters will submit over 1,500 challenges to the company’s eligibility list. The NMB has provided time for a response to those challenges and has now set a final date of August 6 for responses. We expect the Board to make its decision shortly after that date and then schedule our election.

We all worked very hard for months to organize with the Teamsters and are confident about our filing.

Stay patient and steadfast in our drive for Teamster representation. We are well on track to getting our election soon.
