Becky Strzechowski Appointed to Lead Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission
(WASHINGTON) – Becky Strzechowski, President of Local 700 in Chicago and a Trustee of Joint Council 25, has been appointed as the Director of the Teamsters Human Rights Diversity Commission.
“I am pleased to appoint Becky Strzechowski to serve as the director of the union’s Human Rights Commission,” said Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa. “Becky has long been an advocate for all Teamsters and will be a strong voice for our members who seek a greater voice in the union and at work.”
Strzechowski is currently the Director of the Teamsters Women’s Conference and has served as an International Vice President.
“I’m honored to be selected by the General President to serve as the Human Rights Commission director,” said Strzechowski. “Our union’s strength is its diversity and I look forward to working with members from all backgrounds to ensure that we are building a stronger union.”
The Teamsters Human Rights Commission is proud of the strength that is drawn from the diversity within the union’s ranks. The Commission recognizes the need to educate and to learn that different physical and cultural qualities such as race, age, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disabilities, or national origin make individuals unique and deserving of respect.
