Teamster leaders from 4 Divisions and Conferences met this week in New Orleans for the first ever Food Supply Chain Seminar.

“I think it’s critical that we brought all these Divisions and Conferences together under the same roof,” said Steve Vairma, Director of the Warehouse Division and International Vice President. “It’s time that we bring together the essential groups that make up the Teamster Supply Chain and strengthen our solidarity.”

Updates and Division meetings for the Warehouse Division, Food Processing Division, Bakery and Laundry Conference, as well as the Dairy Conference, gave representatives from Teamster locals across the country the opportunity to come together and share their ideas and progress occurring across their memberships.

“It’s important to ensure that we’re doing everything we can to bring these local unions and the work that they’re doing across these Divisions together”, said Tony Andrews, Director of the Dairy Conference and Food Process Division.

Presentations from Organizing, Capital Strategies, Strategic Research and Campaigns, as well as the Legal department, on campaigns like Sysco, AWG, ICE raids at the workplace and more, served as learning opportunities for the Food Supply Chain Seminar attendees.

“I want to thank everybody that was able to attend”, said Dave Dudas, Director of the Bakery and Laundry Conference. “It’s great seeing everybody come together like this. These local unions are doing so much for their members and it’s important we ensure that everyone can come together and learn and grow with each other.”
