(DOVER, N.H.) – Workers at the Dover Police Department have voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 633 in Manchester. This diverse group of 52 workers includes dispatchers, parking enforcement officers, police officers, secretaries, victim advocates, social workers, among others.
“Local 633 is proud to represent 30 police departments, sheriff’s departments, and correctional facilities statewide,” said Jeffrey Padellaro, Local 633 Secretary-Treasurer. “We represent the largest density of law enforcement groups of any union in New Hampshire, and we are elated to welcome the Dover Police Department to North America’s strong union. We are looking forward to getting them a contract that reflects the critical nature of their work.”
“I voted to join the Teamsters so that we could be represented by a union that will have workers’ backs,” said Tim David, a Dover police officer/K9 officer. “Joining the Teamsters has helped members of the Dover Police Department become educated on better ways to protect themselves and our fellow coworkers, while also alleviating job-related stressors for workers.”
Chartered in 1934, Teamsters Local 633 represents more than 4,700 workers in New Hampshire in several different sectors. For more information, visit teamsters633.com.
