To the relief of many in Tucson, Ariz., the Tucson City Council voted yesterday to instruct its bus management company for Sun Tran to end the now 35-day old strike by Teamsters.
The collective bargaining agreement covering more than 530 Teamster represented employees of Sun Tran expired at 11:59 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 5, 2015, after negotiations between representatives of Teamsters Local Union 104 and Professional Transit Management, Inc., dba Sun Tran, failed to reach an agreement for a new collective bargaining agreement.
