Support Workers at Sun Tran – On Strike Since August 6th

suntransigns2web.jpg

More than 530 members of Local 104 in Tucson have been on strike against Sun Tran bus service since August 6 with no end in sight as the striking employees and their supporters continue to walk the picket lines at the Ronstadt Transit Center in downtown Tucson, as well as the north and south facilities.

Our more than 530 brothers and sisters who work as mechanics and drivers at Sun Tran bus service have been on the picket lines due to unfair labor practices.

Sun Tran currently has mold contamination in the North Yard where a majority of the mechanics work, there is mold on the buses our drivers use, there have been assaults against drivers and they are not yet paid a wage which can sustain a family.

We invite you to join other union brothers and sisters from around the state and country on August 22. An event to benefit the striking Sun Tran workers will be held at the IBEW’s hall in Tucson. Please bring non-perishable food items, gift cards (Safeway or Fry’s are the union-preferred stores) or monetary donations.

Let’s keep the Union strong at Sun Tran!
