Wages UP, Cameras OFF!
UPS TEAMSTERS TOOLKIT
As Teamsters finalize supplemental agreements and move on to national negotiations, we are entering a critical phase of this historic fight at UPS. It is more important than ever that all UPS locals take action to mobilize the members. After boasting record profits in 2022, the company now wants to flip the script and whine about a small projected decline in revenue for 2023. We need to show the company that our members are not buying UPS’s narrative.
This company is an industry leader and a money-making machine because of the hardworking Teamsters who keep it running. UPS Teamsters are not backing down from our demands for our share of the profits that we created. At the same time, we need to remind UPS that we have a number of strike issues, one of which is driver-facing cameras in the package cars.
The International is calling on all UPS Teamster locals to escalate member mobilizations over the course of the next month to demonstrate the power and solidarity of the Teamsters. We urge locals to hold regular parking lot meetings, rallies, and leafletting actions. The actions should also be used as an opportunity to support the Contract Unity Pledge campaign, which remains ongoing — keep getting members signed up on cards. We have provided resources and materials below to facilitate activities that will keep UPS Teamsters engaged in this movement.
In order to win a strong contract at the bargaining table, we need to show the company the strength of our union and the resolve of our rank-and-file!

After raking in more than $100 BILLION in profit on the backs of hardworking Teamsters in 2022, UPS has the nerve to say it can’t afford to give us the strong contract we deserve. The company wants to take credit for its success when it talks to investors while downplaying that success when bargaining with the very workers who made that success possible. Cost-neutral negotiations are a deal-breaker. We know how much money UPS has made and we know who generated those profits.
Instead of investing in better conditions for its Teamster workforce, UPS would rather invest in technology to spy on workers and ramp up harassment. Between GPS tracking, diads, and telematics, UPS has more than enough invasive access into every second we are working. Teamsters won’t move a single package after July 31 if UPS insists on driver-facing cameras in the new contract.
We are united in the fight for:
✔️ Pay increases for all full- and part-time UPS Teamsters
✔️ More sick time and vacation days
✔️ Pension increases and additional benefits
❌ NO MORE harassment and unfair discipline
❌ NO MORE surveillance and NO DAMN CAMERAS!

Contract Unity Pledge Campaign Continues
The Contract Unity Pledge campaign is ongoing and we urge locals to continue getting cards signed. While many thousands of cards have been returned to the International by locals across the country, many thousands more have not been signed. The Contract Unity Pledge needs to be a priority for all UPS locals for the duration of the contract campaign as a tool to engage and follow up with members about urgent actions that may be organized to win a strong contract. Please return signed cards every two weeks to the Package Division throughout the duration of the contract campaign. Contact the Package Division if you need more cards.
Contract Action Team Trainings
A national program of UPS Contract Action Team trainings organized by the International is well under way. These trainings are preparing rank-and-file members to win the strongest contract in UPS history. Participants in the trainings are learning about the bargaining process, strategies for mobilizing coworkers, workplace mapping, and building Contract Actions Teams in their locations.
CLICK HERE for more details on upcoming trainings, downloadable fliers, and registration information. If there is an upcoming training taking place in your region, please plan on distributing fliers for that training at your parking lot actions.
Press Assistance Reminder
The International strongly encourages any locals that receive media inquiries about the contract campaign or negotiations to please reach out the Strategic Initiatives Department at 202-624-6911 in order to coordinate with consistent messaging. Thank you!
