  • Teamsters and Allies Protest UC Pay Cut

    (SAN FRANCISCO) – Today, Teamsters Local 2010 members and their allies in the UC Administrative Professionals Network protested a proposed 1.5 percent pay cut at the University of California’s Board of Regents Meeting at the UCSF Campus in Mission Bay. The proposed pay cut comes in the form of a 1.5 percent employee contribution increase to the University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP).

  • Teamsters, Union Allies Gather for Public Sector Solidarity on Capitol Hill

    On Tuesday Teamsters gathered on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. with fellow public sector unions to say in one voice that federal employees are fed up and are rising up!

    “We’re tired of workers being targeted for political reasons,” said Jason Rabinowitz, Teamsters Public Services Director. “Workers who serve our country every day should be treated fairly.”

  • Teamsters Remember a Hero

    Delia Huerta, 57, was performing her duties as a crossing guard on Sept. 16 when she was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Valley Glen. At the time, she was helping a student cross the street,who was also injured in the crash. Huerta was taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

  • Victory in San Bernardino

    An overwhelming majority of Teamsters voted this week to ratify a new four-year contract with the County of San Bernardino in California. After nearly a year of bargaining, Local 1932 was able to secure a strong contract with significant increases in take-home pay for County workers.

    The increases in take-home pay are based on fair across-the-board raises, substantial improvements to employer contributions in health insurance premiums, and merit advancement reform that will help members progress through steps in half as much time as before. The contract covers 11,000 members.

  • Crestwood Police Officers Ratify Strong Teamster Contract

    (CRESTWOOD, Mo.) – Police officers with the Crestwood Police Department have voted unanimously to ratify their first Teamster contract. The 20 police officers, who are members of Local 610, are the first group of Teamster-represented officers in Missouri.  

    “After a lengthy negotiation and a 100 percent ‘yes’ ratification vote, we finally did it,” said Jeff Hall, President of Local 610. “I’m so proud of the officers of Crestwood and the tenacity they showed by sticking together. I’m honored to represent the heroes who serve and protect the citizens of the ‘Show Me’ state.”   

  • Teamsters Local 320 Builds Public Sector Power with Back-to-Back Organizing Victories

    Teamsters Local 320 successfully organized two new bargaining units: Zumbrota Public Works and Tri-County Probation. The Zumbrota workers provide wastewater treatment and a number of other vital services to the City of Zumbrota, Minn. The Tri-County Probation Officers provide supervision and rehabilitation for criminal defendants for Norman, Polk, and Red Lake counties in Northwestern Minnesota.
